A Friend Fall Celebration...

Fall is a time to be cozy and celebrate all the wonderful things in our lives. One of those is our friends. We cherish our friendships that have blessed us threw the years. This past month I hosted a "Thankful for Friends" party. We enjoyed some yummy appetizers, homemade chili and warm cornbread.

I made caramel apples for all of our sweet friends as favors.

My wonderful husband took me to LA to the flower mart. I just love that place. All the beautiful different flowers...and all the colors and smells are just so fabulous.

And...of course yummy sweets!!!

I sooo...need some camera help! Maybe just a better camera and lighting...and some technique.

This was a fun dessert. I made pumpkin pie in a jar. They were super cute and perfect individual servings.

Yummy too...

Chocolate whoopie pies with peanut butter buttercream.

Of course....POPS

We had a fun evening celebrating our friends that night and love the ones who are celebrating in heaven.

Love you and miss you Krista!!
Sweet...sweets and more sweets!!!

Caramel Apples...

I had the joy of making 100 caramel apples for a Mardi Gra 15th birthday party.
Hope the sweets added a little splash to their event.

21st Birthday Bash...

Here's a different cake for my blog.
I wanted to try something a little bit funky with a interesting shape. I'm not sure if I'd try this again but, I've learned the second time around you get better. Practice makes perfect!

Baby Boy Baby Shower...

It is very useful when clients give me a theme, colors and ideas to work from and then....say ,"I trust you to do what you want with your creativity". It makes cake decorating fun and gives you the space to let your creativity flow.

My client Jenny was wonderful to work with and gave me the the space to be creative.
The cake was devils chocolate cake filled with yummy strawberry buttercream.

Yummy chocolate cupcake pops!

The Mother Load...

I had a request to make a Hawaiian wedding cake. Which is really a recipe for the kind of cake not a style of a cake. This cake was super moist and SUPER heavy. I think I made four layers of cake and three layers of cream cheese filling (I've had a lot of cake this month..can't keep them all straight). Anyway, it was soooo good!
Hope you enjoyed it Stephanie. And thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone Fox family!

An Owl Themed Baby Shower...

This past weekend I hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law. As you can see, the theme of her nursery is going to be owls. I took her theme and made it for the baby shower.
I found this cute picture and owl pillow from Target and made them my inspiration colors for the party.

I made a cute dessert bar for her event.

The cake was chocolate with oreo buttercream which the mommy-to-be requested.
I made a little mommy owl and baby owl, which are both out of fondant.

Sugar cookies cut and decorated to resemble owls.

I also made chocolate pops as well as carrot pops.

The caramel apples were giving to each guest as a thank you for attending the event.

The event was held in my backyard. We all had our fingers crossed for the rain to hold off. And it seemed to work. No rain! The celebration took place at 5:30 so my husband added some lights to the tent and made it really magical at night. Good job honey!

Drink station..raspberry lemonade and passion fruit iced tea.

My mother-in-law cut out these cut flowers and we used them as napkin rings. Very clever and it added to the table. Great job Jani!!

This was a very festive event and enjoyed creating it for my sister-in-law!
A special thank you to my friend Amber for creating the invites as well as tags. Also, for helping me work the event. You are the greatest!
Bowling Birthday Party....

We celebrated my daughters 8th birthday at the local bowling ally with a group of her friends. They had such a blast bowling, giggling and running around. A few of the bowling balls ended in other lanes or back in our laps. The girls/boys just giggled the whole time.

After bowling we went back to my house for hot dogs and dessert. This is the kids table all set up. I bought the pink cars at our local Ruby's. Perfect colors!

After they filled their bellies with the dogs, it was time for build-your-own-sundaes!
Happy girls!

My little sundae station all set and pretty.

This little girl was on my daughters invitations. I worked with a lady from Etsy who owns a shop on this site. It's call Party Place. She's great to work with and very fast.
I wanted the girls shirts to match the invitation. We worked with Special T's in Fullerton and they are so amazing with their work. Also they have great customer service!!!

Getting back on track....
I've been busy with cakes and parties over the past two months and just haven't made the time to sit down and post. I felt it was time to get back on track and get posting!

Toy Story...
I had the pleasure of working with a client who was in need of a Toy Story cake for her daughters birthday. We exchanged many emails over the past month coming up with some ideas for this cake. This cake was a 1/2 sheet chocolate cake filled with oreo buttercream. It was super heavy and very fun to make. Thank you Aimee for calling me and trusting me!

Cake was covered in fondant and accent pieces we made out of fondant as well.

The bed was also made out of cake.

Toy box too...

Fairy Cake...

I love this fairy cake. So simple and pretty. My client was having a special birthday for her little girl and wanted a cake with a fairy flair. The cake was strawberry cake filled with cream cheese frosting.

I had so much fun covering the whole cake with fairy dust (edible glitter). A perfect fit for this cake.

Baby Shower...

My name was passed on by a dear friend to this client and I was happy to except this order. It seems like I'm repeating myself but, this cake was a challenge and fun to make. The colors that the client wanted for this cake made me a bit nervous but, they look super cute together.
The baby shoes on top of the cake were made out of gum-paste.

Cute little shoes!

For my Princess....
This client in my number one fan! She is my daughter and loves to see what I can create with each order. For our family celebrations her request was something princess, peanut butter and cupcake pops. I think I covered her request!

For this image I used a stamp set from Stampin Up! and edible ink and place it on dried fondant. I then used edible colored markers and added color to the princess.

The small cupcake are actually cupcake pops.

A Birthday Celebration With Her Class....

My daughter requested cupcakes to be shared with her classmates. I used my stamps again to add some fun accents to the cupcake. The kids were pretty impressed.
